Summary
The app has no accounts and no servers of ours. Everything you create in the app stays on your phone. We, the developer, cannot see it, and we never sell data.
Information stored only on your device
- Spelling lessons, progress, coins, stars, rewards and study time
- Passages, notes, diary, reminders, remembered facts, flashcards, exam dates and scanned documents
- Settings, and the Parent PIN (stored only as a salted hash)
Android cloud backup is switched off for this app, so this information is not copied to Google Drive. It is removed when you use Settings → Delete all data or uninstall the app.
Microphone (voice practice)
The microphone is used only while you or your child practise speaking or spelling, and only after you allow it. Speech is turned into text by your phone's own speech-recognition service (for example Google's). When the phone is online that service may process the audio under its own privacy policy; when it is offline, the phone's on-device speech model is used. The app itself does not record, keep or upload any audio.
Camera, photos and files
The camera, photo gallery and file picker are used only when you choose to scan a page, import a PDF or ask about a picture. Text is read on the device with Google ML Kit, and the page scanner is provided on the device by Google Play services. Images and documents are not uploaded by the app.
Support files
To make smart answers and picture help work better, the app may download a few support files once from a public file server (Hugging Face), on Wi-Fi by default. Like any download, that server receives your IP address. The files then run entirely on your phone; your questions, texts and photos are never sent anywhere. You can see, pause or delete these files in Settings → Support files.
Notifications
Reminders and practice notifications are created and scheduled on your phone only.
Advertising
Ads are never shown in Kids mode. In the Parent Zone and Study Studio the app shows ads from Google AdMob. All ad requests are marked as child-directed and limited to G-rated content, so ads are not personalised and the Android advertising ID is not used. Google may process device information such as IP address, device model and app activity to deliver ads, measure them and prevent fraud – see how Google uses information from apps that use its services. Where the law requires it, a consent form is shown before ads load.
Purchases
The optional one-time "Remove ads" purchase is handled entirely by Google Play. We never see your payment details. The app checks the purchase on the phone to confirm it is genuine.
Children
The app is designed for families and follows the Google Play Families Policy. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Kids mode has no ads, no external links and no purchases; the Parent Zone, Settings, Study Studio, purchases and links are protected by a parental gate (PIN or fingerprint).
Sharing and selling
We do not share or sell personal information. The only third parties involved are those described above (Google AdMob, Google Play, the phone's speech and text-recognition services, and the support-file download server).
Security
Data stays inside the app's private storage on your phone, which other apps cannot read. Downloads use encrypted HTTPS connections.
Your choices and deleting data
You can turn off the microphone or camera permission in Android settings at any time, turn off smart answers in the app, delete the support files, or erase everything with Settings → Delete all data. Because we keep no data on servers, there is nothing else to delete. More: how to delete your data.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
